KOHLER – The Notre Dame Academy girls’ golf team finished sixth at the WIAA Division 1 Girls’ Golf State Tournament Oct. 12-13 at Blackwolf Run in Kohler.

Due to a three-hour rain delay during day one of the competition, the tournament saw a reduced amount of holes to decide its champions.

Instead of the standard two-day, 36-hole format, this year’s event saw 27 holes of competition.

Nine holes were golfed Oct. 12 and 18 the next day.

The Tritons’ 557 team total was 41 shots behind Brookfield Central, who beat Waunakee by 10 strokes to win the team championship.

Grace Durkin finished in a tie for ninth with a two-day total of 129 for Notre Dame.

Emily Noble (138, tied-25th), Emma Wolf (146, tied-37th), Belle Williams (150, 40th) and Lily Balison (152, tied-42nd) also competed.

Fifty-two golfers competed in the Division 1 field.

Green Bay NEW Lutheran’s Faith Flynn finished 10th in the Division 2 tournament with a 138.
