KOHLER – Due to a three-hour rain delay, the WIAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament will see fewer holes to decide its champions.
Instead of the standard two-day, 36-hole format, this year’s event, being held at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, will see only 27 holes of competition.
Nine holes were golfed Monday, Oct. 12, and 18 will be played Oct. 13.
After day one, Notre Dame Academy sits in sixth place among eight teams, 21 shots back of leading Brookfield Central.
Grace Durkin and Emily Noble are tied for 23rd after firing 11-over 47s to lead the Tritons.
Emma Wolf (50, tied-31st), Belle Williams (51, tied-35th) and Lily Balison (59, tied-48th) also competed.
Fifty-two golfers are competing in the Division 1 field.
