Booyah swept by Fond du Lac

FOND DU LACThe Green Bay Booyah didn’t record their first hit of the game until the ninth inning in a 3-1 Northwoods League loss to Fond du Lac in their final road game of the year.

The lone hit for the Booyah came from Nadir Lewis.

After Lewis reached base to put runners on second and third, Stephen Hrustich grounded out to third to score Andy Blake for the only run of the night.

Green Bay, which lost its third straight game, only scored one run during the two-game series in Fond du Lac.

Starter Ben Hart threw six strong innings from the left side, giving up two unearned runs.

Out of the bullpen, Brad Deboutte went two innings, giving up an earned run with one strikeout.

The Booyah committed five errors defensively, three of which came in the fifth inning.

Despite the loss, Green Bay still sits a half game in front of Rockford for the final playoff spot.

With a win either Aug. 19 or 20 over the Rivets, the Booyah will clinch the last spot and head to Fond du Lac for the opening round of the playoffs Friday, Aug. 21.

Rockford would need to win both games at Capital Credit Union Park to surpass the Booyah and head to the postseason.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. both nights against the Rivets.
