Booyah shut out at home

ASHWAUBENON – The Green Bay Booyah dropped a 3-0 Northwoods League game to La Crosse Aug. 13 at Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon.

The Booyah (16-23) picked up only three hits in their fifth consecutive loss.

Colin Kleffman, Weston Eberly and Ty Olejnik each had hits.

Green Bay batters struck out nine times, as La Crosse starter Jayson Hibbard went seven frames, striking out eight.

On the mound, Aaron Winkler went three innings for the Booyah, striking out three.

Out of the bullpen, Green Bay Preble graduate Ryan Stefiuk completed 1 2/3 innings, allowing two walks and giving up three earned runs.

Stefiuk was charged with the loss, his first of the season.

Dixie State’s Ben Hart finished the game, going 4 1/3 and striking out six.

Green Bay will host La Crosse for the final time this season Friday, Aug. 14, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.

The Booyah still have a half-game lead over Rockford for the last spot in the postseason.
