Booyah have three-game winning streak snapped

ASHWAUBENON – The Green Bay Booyah fell to .500 on the season with a 6-1 Northwoods League loss to La Crosse on July 23 at Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon.

The Loggers scored four runs within the first four innings.

Green Bay (11-11) starting pitcher Garrett Martin fell to 1-1 on the season.

At the plate, the Booyah were led by Nick Kreutzer, who went 3-for-4 with two singles and a double.

Green Bay had its opportunities to score in both the seventh and eighth innings, but left the bases full both times.

Ethan Payne was the lone runner to cross home for the Booyah, finishing the day 1-for-3 and scoring on a sacrifice fly from Ty Olejnik.

Green Bay will host first-place Fond du Lac Friday, July 24, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.

New Mexico State’s Chris Jefferson is making his first start of 2020 for the Booyah.

Green Bay is currently one game back of Fond du Lac for first place in the East division.
