Blue Ribbons baseball opens season

GREEN BAY – The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons, formerly known as the De Pere Dodgers, will have 24 home games this season at Joannes Stadium.

The Blue Ribbons are a semi-pro baseball team made up of current and former college players, participating in both the Wisconsin State League and the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.

The first regular-season home game will be Monday, July 6, when Green Bay hosts Appleton.

The Blue Ribbons will host Lombard, the defending Wisconsin State League champs, in a four-game series July 11-12.

Tickets will be available at the gate, with admission prices of $3 for adults, $1 for students age 13-17 and kids 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult.

Concessions will be available but may be limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.

For the time being, only pre-packaged food and drinks will be served, but carry-in of food and bottled water will also be allowed.

Credit and debit cards are encouraged for purchase inside the stadium, and no convenience fee will be charged when using a card to pay.

Officials said seating at Joannes is plentiful, making it easy for fans to social distance.

Sanitation stations will be provided at seating and bleacher entries.

Fans may also choose to bring lawn chairs into the park and set up down the right and left-field lines.

Masks are encouraged but not be required.
