Preble High School announces 2019-20 athletic award winners

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Preble High School athletic department recently announced its 2019-2020 athletic award winners.

All the honorees are recent graduates of Preble and participated in WIAA sanctioned sports.

Kendall Renard and Collin Derenne were each named WIAA Scholar-Athletes.

Each nominee must have earned at least four varsity letters and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Derenne was also the recipient of the United States Marine Corps Award.

He was recognized as an exemplary young citizen, a role model for younger students and having exhibited the personal traits of courage, poise, self-confidence and leadership.

American Legion awards were given to Aubrie Gorski and Kaiser Neverman.

Recipients must be in good standing academically and excel athletically.

Max Wagner received the Bill Dessart Leadership Award.

The award goes to a male athlete in good standing academically who displays the characteristics of a good leader.

Renard was also named the Peter Hamel Most Valuable Athlete, which is the highest honor bestowed on a female athlete at Preble.

Renard will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to play basketball.

Kaiser Neverman was named the John David Most Valuable Athlete for males.

He will be swimming at the University of Minnesota.

Recipients were recognized for their achievement, sportsmanship, character and leadership.
