De Pere hires new girls’ swimming coach

DE PERE – De Pere High School has hired Jed Galutira as head coach of the girls’ swimming program, a co-op team with West De Pere High School.

This past season, Galutira was an assistant coach for the team under coach Bill Rinehart, who resigned after four seasons.

Galutira has also worked as a lifeguard, swim lesson instructor and coach at St. Norbert College since June 2018.

He will graduate this spring from St. Norbert with a degree in natural sciences.

“We are excited to have Jed step into this new position,” said De Pere Athletics Director Jeff Byczek. “Swimming has always been a huge part of Coach Galutira’s life, and that’s key to the success of being a great head coach. Coach’s passion for the sport and ability to connect with swimmers, parents and others around the program make us excited for the future.”

The Redbirds’ swimming program began in 2006.

This fall will mark the third season it’s been a co-op team.
