Parents: Heidi and Brock Neverman

Kaiser Neverman is a senior at Green Bay Preble High School.

As a junior, he finished third in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100 butterfly at the WIAA Division 1 state meet.

For his accomplishments, Neverman was named the Fox River Classic Conference Swimmer of the Year last season.

Talk about your success with Green Bay United.

“I’ve been able to break seven of the eight individual team records.  Our team has improved to conference and sectional runner-up. We were second to last in each before the start of my freshman year.”

Talk about how supportive your family has been.

“My parents have been especially supportive, whether it’s driving me across the country or getting up at 6 a.m. every day in the summer for the last 12 years.”

What chore do you hate doing?

“Laundry, because it’s tedious and repetitive.”

What’s it like being a leader?

“It’s great because you can help people who are less experienced in what you are leading. We usually have the leaders be the first coaches for our less-experienced swimmers, and we are able to work together every practice.”

What’s your most embarrassing swimming moment?

“I don’t get embarrassed in situations because I try to make everything funny. If something is embarrassing, I love to pair it with a joke.”

What are two things you cook at home?

“Scrambled eggs and pancakes. I love breakfast, so these were essential to learn.”

What’s your most memorable moment?

“Winning the 100-meter butterfly at the YMCA national championships in 2018.”

Do you have any superstitions?

“If I tell someone I will win, it won’t happen.”

With 30 minutes of free time, what would you do?

“I would turn on Disney+ and watch a classic.”

What are your strengths in swimming?

“Being able to respect my competitors and see them as friends instead of rivals and be my best when it matters most.”

What’s the cheesiest song you remember?

“’You’re Welcome’ from the Disney movie ‘Moana.’”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

“Hopefully, a family is on the horizon and in a job I enjoy every day.”

What’s something about you most people don’t know?

“Even though I’m not very good, I love water sports like skiing and wakeboarding.”

Would you rather be the worst swimmer on a good team or the best swimmer on a weak team?

“The worst swimmer on a good team because then I could be pushed by the people around me to improve as much as I can.”

Who’s your favorite swimmer?

“Matt Grevers. When I was seven, he came to a local meet and swam.”

What are your college aspirations?

“Attending the University of Minnesota. I’m excited to be a part of their family. I’m still deciding on my major, but I’m leaning towards psychology or other pre-med paths.”

Talk about a favorite teacher.

“Mr. Bornowski taught in a fun manner. I still have some experiments we did in his class.”

What are your hobbies?

“Water sports, boating and music.”

What’s your favorite type of music?

“Hip hop and upbeat rhythm and blues. My favorite artists are Kid Quill and Jack Harlow.”

What’s your favorite winter activity?

“I love to ski, but I’m not very good now.”

What three words describe you?

“Dedicated, loving, friendly.”

What’s the funniest name you can think of for a pet?

“Felp.”
