GREEN BAY – Looking to make home improvements or build a new house, but don’t know where to start? Look no further.

For more than 60 years, the Brown County Home Builders Association (BCHBA) has sponsored an annual home show which features professionals from all areas of the home building industry.

“Find the best resources all under one roof,” said Lori Frisbie, BCHBA event coordinator. “Save time, meet face-to-face and establish relationships with local builders, remodelers and subcontractors in the industry.”

The 2020 Brown County Home Expo will be held at the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay.

Frisbie said the expo features industry experts who will share newest insights, products and services in a variety of categories, including design, furnishings, appliances, landscaping, security, automation and more.

After spending time in the exhibit hall, attendees can take part in numerous seminars, such as The Benefits of Concrete Coatings, How to Choose the Right Contractor and Valuable Ways to Save Energy.

A full list of seminars can be found online.

New this year is the Build Your Space to Create projects built by area middle school students, which will be on display throughout the weekend.

Attendees are encouraged to vote for, or bid to win, their favorite.

Participating schools include Aldo Leopold Community School, Algoma Middle School, Marinette Middle School, Parkview Middle School, Peshtigo Middle School and West De Pere Middle School.

Participants have the chance to win up to $500 for their schools.

Proceeds from the sale will support BCHBA educational programs.

Frisbie said each day of the expo offers different incentives geared toward all members of the family.
They include:

• Free With Three: Thursday, Jan. 23, from 3 to 8 p.m., attendees can receive free admission with the donation of three non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Paul’s Pantry.

• Home & Hops: Friday, Jan. 24, from 3 to 8 p.m., attendees can purchase a glass and enjoy craft beer tastings while meeting with experts. Each purchase qualifies attendees for a chance to win a Party on the Patio package, sponsored by Dean Distributing.

• Family Day: Fun activities for kids – including face painting, K-9 dogs, Draw Your Dream Home contest and fingerprinting – will be available throughout the day Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Crime Prevention Unit will also be on hand to discuss home security, identity theft, internet safety and neighborhood watch.

• Sunday Funday BOGO: It’s buy one, get one admission on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can also bring in their resume on Sunday to receive free admission.

Adult admission to the expo is $5, and includes a weekend pass. Children 16 and younger are free when accompanied by a parent.
