Kolz named Notre Dame Academy boys’ tennis coach

GREEN BAY – Aaron Kolz has been named the head coach of the Notre Dame Academy boys’ tennis team.

Kolz brings 15 years of coaching experience to the Tritons, who won the WIAA Division 2 state championship last season.

“It’s exciting to be working with a successful team in Notre Dame,” Kolz said. “It’s something I’ve wanted, so having this opportunity is a blessing.”

The Milwaukee native has coached youth to adults and is looking forward to the opportunity to lead a varsity program for the first time.

“I’m excited,” Kolz said. “In a sense, I get to follow in my dad’s footsteps.”

Kolz’s father, Mike, has been the coach at Milwaukee Pius for almost 30 years.

Kolz, 29, started playing tennis at the age of 6 and began coaching at the recreation level when he was 14.

He obtained a degree in professional tennis management from Ferris State University and Tyler Junior College in Texas.

Kolz had the opportunity to coach at various levels in Texas and Florida and is currently the tennis professional at the Green Bay Tennis Center.

“I am excited for what Aaron brings to our tennis program,” Notre Dame athletic director Matt Koenig said. “His knowledge of the game, his attention to detail and most importantly, his interest in building on the tradition of Notre Dame tennis. He has the experience of teaching players of all ages and talent levels, which will give all of our athletes the opportunity to grow in their game.”
