Nickname: Brooky

Parents: Jeff and Sheri Bishop

Activity: Dance

Dance team page: Pulaskidance

Brooklyn Bishop is a senior on the Pulaski dance team.

Her brother Bryce attends UW-Whitewater.

Bishop said she would love to start her own boutique in California after completing college.

When did your interest in dance begin?

“I began dancing at 3 through the Pulaski PACE program. My parents put me in the sport before I knew what it entailed, but as soon as I joined, I knew it was my passion. I went to the Power of Dance for a couple of years during middle school and have been dancing on the high school dance team for the past four years.”

What was the last gift you gave someone?

“A box of gold-themed gifts for my friend Emily’s golden birthday.”

Which teammate could perform on Dancing with the Stars?

“Karissa Lambert. She is willing to push herself out of her comfort zone and try new styles of dance. She has a strong background in dance with good technique.”

What’s your most memorable moment?

“Performing at the state competition during last year’s dance season. Qualifying for the competition reassured the team our hard work was worth it. Only the top half in the state make it.”

If you woke up and had 1,000 unread text messages and could answer only 200, how would you choose which ones to answer?

“I would first choose the texts from my family because I usually don’t get texts from them unless it’s something important. After, I would open the messages from my closest friends.”

What goals do you hope this season?

“I hope to qualify for state again. We moved divisions for a couple of our routines, so we are against harder competition. With the extensive amount of work we are putting in, I have no doubt we can do it.”

What’s your favorite number?

“It’s 18. I don’t know why, but it has been since I was little.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?

“Beyonce. Her life is the complete opposite of mine, so it would be interesting experiencing the lifestyle of someone rich and famous.”

Who or what inspires you?

“I find dance inspiration through other dancers I follow on Instagram. I look up to Autumn Miller and Briar Nolet.”

Future plans?

“Attending UW-Eau Claire next year to study business.”

How would you confront bullying if you saw it before your eyes?

“I would immediately try to stop it from happening. However, if they persisted, I would look for a teacher or adult figure to help.”

Spider-Man or Batman?

“Spiderman because I like how he looks.

What’s your favorite day of the week?

“Friday. I have a good schedule at school, and I’m in a good mood because I’m excited about the weekend.”

What’s the hardest class at Pulaski High School?

“Advanced Placement biology during my junior year. My strongest subject is math, and I don’t click as well with science courses.”

What one word describes you?

“Positive.”

What did you do for your community service hours at Pulaski?

“Most of my volunteer hours have come from Leo Club opportunities. I have babysat for several elementary schools, worked at the food pantries and helped run the PACE dance recital.”

What’s your favorite dance move in a competition?

“A leap. I like all jumps and turns in general, but I’ve been especially good at leaps.”

Talk about your dance coach Hanna Hedsand.

She has led me three of my four years on the team. I’ve grown close with her, and I am grateful she was put in my life.”
