Staehling earns All-America status
DE PERE – St. Norbert College senior wide receiver Samuel Staehling was named to the second team of the Associated Press NCAA Division III All-America Football Team.
Staehling, a Plymouth native, earned his first All-America honor after a banner senior season.
Staehling’s All-America status gives the St. Norbert football team at least one All-American in each of the last five seasons.
Staehling was named Midwest Conference Offensive Skill Player of the Year after finishing the nine-game season with 46 receptions for 1,028 yards, an average of 22.3 yards per catch.
He also had 11 receiving touchdowns.
A three-time, first-team All-MWC selection, Staehling is the St. Norbert career leader in receiving touchdowns with 42, is second with 3,112 career receiving yards and is third in career receptions (147).
Staehling also recently earned his third first-team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Academic All-America selection, the first student-athlete in St. Norbert history to earn three first-team Academic All-America honors in the same sport.
