Tell me about your family.

“I have an older brother named George who is a sophomore at St. Norbert, my mom is from Indiana and my dad moved a lot because his father was in the Air Force. He lived in Panama, California and Arizona.”

Do you come from a sports family?

“George wrestled and ran cross country, my mom cheered but was more into student council and my dad ran, wrestled and played football.”

How is cross country similar to wrestling?

“For me, weight management in both is key. If I’m a few pounds heavier while running, it affects how I feel.”

How is it different?

“The type of activity – wrestling is multitasking with technique and thinking while running focuses on one thing.”

What do you like about each sport?

“In cross country, you’re running alone but competing with so many others on the course. With wrestling, it’s only you. Whatever you do – win or lose – you’re the one responsible, and you can’t blame anyone else.”

Have you qualified for state?

“I qualified for state in cross country during my sophomore and junior seasons. I have yet to qualify in wrestling – it’s tough, but I hope I can this year.”

Ever do other sports at De Pere?

“My freshman year I played rugby.”

Is there one you wish you had done?

“I think football would have been fun to play.”

How do you balance being a three-sport athlete?

“I don’t have much free time being in three sports, but on weekends, I get to relax a bit more.”

Do you have a most memorable sports moment?

“Having both of the cross country teams qualify for state last year. It was a great time socially and competition-wise.”

What is something about you most people don’t know?

“I was born near Chicago, and I love playing video games – my favorite is Minecraft.”

How will you be remembered at De Pere?

“As an average, nice guy. I want teachers to remember me as a nice kid who tried hard.”

What three words describe you?

“Outgoing, funny, confident.”

What is your favorite family vacation?

“When I was in the third grade, we went to Mexico. We went snorkeling, hung out with some family friends and spent a lot of time on the beach.”

What is your dream job?

“I would like to be a business manager.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

“I’ll be 27, and I’d like to think I’ll have a stable job. I hope to still be running.”
