ASHWAUBENON—The Green Bay Booyah struck for three runs in the bottom of the fourth in route to a 4-1 victory over the Lakeshore Chinooks in a game played August 9 at Capital Credit Union Park .

“We generated some big hits in the fourth inning against their pitcher,” said Booyah second basemen Mike Ferri. “Once we got going, we opened the game up a bit.”

Logan Lee pitched five complete innings giving up one hit and a run for Green Bay who have now won three in a row.

Nick Riggle entered the game in the sixth, struck out five and got the save for the Booyah.

Jacob Schellpfeffer was the losing pitcher for Lakeshore giving up four runs in 3 2/3 innings.

After the Chinooks took an early 1-0 lead, the Booyah evened it up in the third.

With two outs and nobody on, Cooper Morrison sent a chopper to shallow third and used his foot speed to gather an infield single.

After Morrison’s successful stolen base, Blaise Maris singled to left field scoring Morrison.

In the bottom of the fourth, Green Bay broke the deadlock at one.

Jacob Buchberger sent a liner to third base. The throw was errant and he took another base.

With two outs, and Buchberger on third, Conner Goodman walked and then Ferri singled to left field to give the Booyah a 2-1 lead.

The hitting didn’t stop there.

Mike Ruggiero singled to right field to bring home Goodman and give Green Bay a two-run lead.

After a wild pitch advanced runners to second and third, Morrison was at it again with his Olympic like speed to gather another infield single that scored another run.

“As a tight-knit group, we’re just trying to have fun this last week of the season,” added Ferri. “I’ve had a tremendous summer with these guys and its always nice to win down the stretch.”

In the top of the seventh with Riggle on the mound, the Chinooks got singles from Gunner Hellstrom and Jake Thompson but Riggle slammed the door on any Lakeshore momentum by getting a final out of the inning and the remainder of the contest belonged to the Booyah.

The Booyah will host its final game of the season Sunday, August 11 versus Wisconsin at 4:05.
