Bellin Health offers pre-participation sports physicals

BROWN COUNTY – Bellin Health is gearing up for the fall sports season by offering pre-participation sports physicals for middle and high school student-athletes.

Exams are $20, and 100 percent of that fee is donated back to the student’s school district.

Pre-participation physical exams include orthopedic, cardiovascular, medical, skin, abdominal and lung examinations.

They also include an optional Electrocardiogram (EKG) test to check for heart abnormalities.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) requires a pre-participation exam every two years for its athletes.

“In addition to fulfilling a requirement, these exams are a great way for parents and athletes alike to feel confident the student is ready to start the season healthy,” said licensed athletic trainer Mark Husen. “We’re also happy to be able to give back to the schools — last year, Bellin donated more than $34,000 to 41 schools through this program. It truly is a win-win.”

Wisconsin students are asked to visit wiaawi.org/health/formsphysicalandpublications.aspx to print and fill out the WIAA physical form.

Please bring this to your appointment.

The sports physical card must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian.

If you wear corrective lenses, please bring them to your appointment.
