BROWN COUNTY – Bay Port’s Jett Thielke and West De Pere’s Connor Langreder were recently selected to play in the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-Star event in Oshkosh June 28-29.

Both players are pitchers.

The 36th annual event will feature 72 of the best seniors from around the state on four separate teams.

Thielke and Langreder will be members of the North squad.

Thielke is a Madison College commit.

“Despite having a younger team this year, we did extremely well,” said Thielke, who throws in the upper 80s. “We all worked hard and ended the season with a co-Fox River Classic Conference championship with Green Bay Preble. It’s definitely an honor to be asked to play [in the all-star game] with some of the best players in the state. It’s definitely a cool way to end my high school career.”

Thielke was also named the co-player of the year in the FRCC with Preble’s Max Wagner.

Langreder will be attending Northern Illinois University after helping lead the Phantoms to the WIAA Division 2 state tournament.

“It’s an honor to be a part of the all-star game because this is a special event that few people get to participate in,” said Langreder, who also throws in the upper 80s. “I hope to make an impact my first year at NIU and prove that I can compete. It was so much fun playing with the guys this season. The way everyone competed was amazing.”
