LA CROSSE – The Green Bay area was well represented at the WIAA Division 1 track and field state championships in La Crosse May 31-June 1.

De Pere’s Olivia Fabry repeated her state title in the pole vault by clearing 12 feet.

Her teammate, Grace Kowalkowski, finished third with a vault of 11-6.

Ashwaubenon’s Sage Wagner placed second in the 1,600-meter run (4:56.22) by less than a half-second.

Bay Port’s Ella Meeuwsen finished third in the high jump (5-06) to close out the area top-three results for the girls.

After having the fastest time in the preliminaries, the Bay Port boys’ 4×400 relay team (Andrew Thomas, Sam Plumb, Ryan Thieme, Mitchell Merhalski) narrowly missed out on a state title with a time of 3:24.32.

The Pirates finished about two-tenths of a second behind Appleton North in the finals.

West De Pere’s Tejay Evans blazed to a time of 21.97 in the 200 to finish third to highlight the remaining boys’ top-three results.
