Local couple ready for bicycling adventure

GREEN BAY – Local cross-country bicyclists, advocates and authors, Peter and Tracy Flucke of WE BIKE, etc., LLC, plan to continue their bicycle adventures in 2019.

Beginning June 1, 2019, the Fluckes will ride their tandem bicycle, unsupported, approximately 7,000 miles from Washington State east across the middle of the country to the eastern seaboard.

From there, they will continue north to Massachusetts then south to Florida, Alabama and Mississippi, before finally ending in New Orleans, Louisiana, in late October.

This will be the Fluckes’ longest ride and will cover their final 21 states in the lower 48.

“Our bicycle adventures are a way to spark a sense of adventure, raise awareness, promote fitness, entertain and motivate,” said Tracy Flucke.

The Fluckes began their cross-country bicycle adventures in 2014 when they rode 4,362 miles in 72 days across the northern tier of the U.S.

This ride is chronicled in their locally-published book, “Coast to Coast on a Tandem.”

In 2015, they bicycled 3,052 miles north to south along the Mississippi River.

In 2016, another trip took them 2,603 miles along Historic Route 66.
