Karson Corcoran is a senior on the West De Pere soccer team.

She said the hardest part about soccer is over-analyzing the other team and letting it affect how you play.

Tobin Heath is her favorite soccer player because of the slick passes he makes during a game.

You advanced all the way to the Sectionals last year. How special was that and the undefeated Bay Conference season?

“I think last season settled some unfinished business and goals that we had from the previous seasons. It was really special winning conference with a team that had played together for years, and we all worked together for the same goals. Some goals we set every year are winning a regional championship, winning conference and achieving these goals was really special. The previous seasons we had some heartbreaking losses that made us hungry to make last season the best.”

What teammate would you like to be with if you were trapped on the Pacific Ocean?

“Zoe Cambray, because she is so positive and happy all the time. I think she would keep me calm.”

What makes your offense so special? Your team scored over 100 goals in just 18 games in 2018.

“I think our offense had a lot of chemistry, and we were all willing to be unselfish for the sake of the team. Across the board almost every player on our team scored goals, and it was not a one man show.”

What is your most embarrassing soccer moment?

“Probably getting a red card playing club soccer. Not my finest moment.”

Who is the most likely to be early/late to practice?

“I would say Lauren Maynard for being early because she is the mom of our team and she is always ready and prepared for anything. Shannon Walsh for being late to practice. We like to joke with her about it.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?

“Mr. Batten, our physics teacher, because I think anyone at West De Pere would want to see what goes on in his head for a day. He is one of the most animated, passionate teachers I have ever had. ‘A day in the life of Jack Batten’ has a nice ring to it.”

What are your goals for the 2019 season?

“I want to go out and have a fun senior year. As a team, we always strive to do better than the last season. Last year, we only had one goal scored on us in conference.”

Do you have a nickname or something a teammate calls you during a match?

“It’s normally just Kars or Karson unless someone gets me confused with Aubri Campos, which is pretty common.”

What is one thing that other teammates or coaches don’t know about you?

“I have this nasty scar on my knee from dancing on the laundry basket when I was little. I wish I could say it was from getting cleated or something. I’m just a klutz and fell.”

What are your college aspirations?

“I will be attending UW-Madison in the fall to study biology with a focus on pre-med and a minor in Spanish.”

What are your hobbies?

“Spending time with family and friends, traveling and going to coffee shops.”

What three words describe you?

“Determined, dedicated, personable.”

If you could attend the World Cup which is held every four years, what city would you want to go see it in?

“Madrid. I’ve always wanted to go to Spain and to see the best players in the world there would be amazing.”

Favorite move in soccer?

“The Cruyff.”

What are three things you’re going to miss about attending West De Pere High School?

“Football games, cheese sticks, teachers.”
