Name: Sarah Gregory

Parents: James and Lynn Gregory

Activity: Choir, performing arts

Sarah Gregory is a senior at Ashwaubenon High School who plans to attend St. Norbert College for elementary education, with a double minor in social studies and music.

She describes herself as hardworking, dedicated and caring.

What classmate would you like to be with if you were trapped on the Atlantic Ocean?

“I would probably choose to have Jenna Duquanie with me because I have known her for a long time, and she’s one of the funniest people I know. I think she would help me stay calm.”

What is your most embarrassing moment in a performance?

“It was this year during ‘Mamma Mia.’ I had a very fast quick change at the end of the show, and I had to get into my dynamos costume for bows. The costume had a heavy cape attached to the zipper and if it wasn’t zipped up enough the zipper would fall down. I apparently hadn’t gotten the zipper up high enough and it fell down when I was running to get on stage. I wasn’t aware of this, and I almost walked out on stage with the costume unzipped. Luckily, someone stopped me and helped me zip up my costume before I went on.”

Do you have a nickname or somebody calls you at school?

“There used to be two Sarah’s on all of my teams, so at one-point people would call me ‘Greg.’”

What are your hobbies?

“In my limited free time, I am often singing, playing or writing music.”

What city would you want to go see?

“I would probably want to be in Europe. Somewhere in France or Italy.”

What are three things you’re going to miss about attending Ashwaubenon High School?

“I am going to miss my friends that I won’t be able to see every day anymore, some of my teachers who have helped me navigate through the tough and scary journey of high school and our amazing new PAC because the stage is truly an honor to perform on.”

Sledding down an incredible snow hill in Nova Scotia or chilling on a beach in Mexico?

“Chilling on a beach in Mexico.”

In addition, you are very talented in the choir? Talk about that experience.

“I am very involved in choir and have been in the high school’s show choir and encore since my sophomore year. I have also been in musicals since my sophomore year, which was luckily the first year that the PAC opened. My first show was ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ and I was in the ensemble. Last year, during ‘School of Rock,’ I had a supporting lead in the role of ‘Tomika,’ which was one of my first big roles. This year, I had the honor of playing Donna Sheridan in the musical Mamma Mia. It was such an honor to be part of history at this school, in that we were able to sell out four of our five shows. This seemed like only a crazy dream since we have over a seven hundred seat house.”

Any future plans for acting?

“I plan on participating in choir and theater in college, and I hope it is something I can stay in touch with throughout my life.”

What is your favorite part about the Performing Arts Center on the Ashwaubenon campus?

“As president of the Performing Arts Club, I don’t know if I can pick a favorite part of the PAC. I definitely enjoy the new technical systems we have access to because these new technologies can create amazing effects on stage. I guess my favorite part is being able to have the opportunity to perform on such a big and technologically advanced stage.”

Favorite play or musical?

“There are so many good musicals. I don’t know that I could pick a favorite, but the first musical I ever saw live on stage was ‘Wicked.’”
