HOWARD – A Planned Development District (PDD) to construct three 20-unit apartment buildings at the corner of Riverview Drive and Maywood Avenue received final approval Monday, March 25, from the Howard village board.

Board members backed a recommendation made a week earlier from the Plan Commission to approve the request from Keith Duquaine of Duquaine Development for the PDD at that site on 3.665 acres adjacent to a salvage yard to the north and also located along Riverview Drive with Duck Creek to the south, where a dock with seating is planned for residents.

The PDD calls for each of the three two-story apartment buildings of the River Bank Apartments to have 12 two-bedroom units and eight one-bedroom units.

There will also be 60 garage stalls – 12 attached to the apartment buildings and 48 detached – along with additional surface parking. Vehicles would enter and exit from Riverview Drive.

Rent ranges in the PDD are listed from $749 to $1,050 per month for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit.

The project timeline calls for breaking ground in the second quarter of this year with completion of the first building in December.

The second building is slated to be finished in March 2020 with completion of the third building set for June 2020.

The PDD also lists the total development projected cost at $5.625 million.
