FRCC hockey awards announced

GREEN BAY – The 2018-19 Fox River Classic Conference season awards were recently announced for hockey.

Notre Dame Academy’s Brendan Poshak was named the player of the year, while his coach, Cory McCracken, was named the coach of the year.

The Tritons won the FRCC and advanced to the WIAA Division 1 sectional final before falling to Neenah.

Poshak, a Northern Michigan University recruit, scored 20 goals and added 16 assists for 14-7-6 Tritons.

First team: Jake Boxer (Bay Port, defense), Jacob Conrad (Notre Dame, defense), Liam Golden (Ashwaubenon, forward), Aaron Ribar (Bay Port, forward), Poshak (forward), Bo Buckley (Notre Dame, goalie).

Second team: Brett Pansier (De Pere, defense), Sam Peterman (Notre Dame, defense), Murphy Eggers (De Pere, forward), Grant Tritabaugh (De Pere, forward), Spencer Allen (Notre Dame, forward), Brody VandenHeuvel (De Pere, goalie).

Honorable mention: Riley Nissen (Ashwaubenon, defense), Parker Dorn (Ashwaubenon, defense), Tyler Brady (Bay Port, defense), Will Falconer (Sheboygan, defense), Kole Altergott (Ashwaubenon, forward), Joey Hamielec (Ashwaubenon, forward), Jack Chilson (Bay Port, forward), Mason Paul (De Pere, forward), Michael Thoreson (De Pere, forward), Sawyer Scholl (Notre Dame, forward), Bennett Dale (Sheboygan, forward), Jack Louko (Sheboygan, forward), Marcus Niemi (Bay Port, goalie).
