Press Times earns WNA awards

By Press Times Staff

GREEN BAY – The Press Times, a weekly newspaper serving Green Bay and the surrounding communities, recently won three awards, most notably a first place in the state of Wisconsin for its website.

The awards were given out at the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation’s Better Newspaper Contest in Madison, March 7-9.

The Press Times earned a first place for its website, gopresstimes.com, as it was named the best weekly newspaper website in Wisconsin.

The website award was for all weekly newspapers in the state across three divisions based on print circulation.

Ben Rodgers, Press Times editor, also took home a second place award for Reporting on Education for his four-part series on the Howard-Suamico School District’s successful referendum last year.

Press Times staff also earned a third place award for Best Front Page design.

“We are humbled and honored to have earned recognition for our hard work from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association,” said Publisher Patrick Wood. “As a new publication in the greater Green Bay area, we feel these awards validate our commitment to provide local news to Brown County. But we want our readers to know we are just getting started.”
