ASHWAUBENON – The village’s Site Plan Review Committee approved a site plan Tuesday, Jan. 22, for BENMAR Fabrication.

BENMAR will construct an approximately 12,000-foot addition to the building the company purchased to expand its operations at the northwest corner of Market Street and Ashwaubenon Street.

Community Development Director Aaron Schuette informed the committee that the addition on the west side of the building would consist of a mix of architectural metal panels and masonry units.

Schuette noted the south elevation facing Ashwaubenon Street will have approximately 9 1/2 feet of masonry and then transition to metal wall panels that match the existing building, while the north and west elevations will have a 3-foot wainscot of masonry below the metal panels as required by village ordinance.

He also pointed out all the wall panels are to have concealed fasteners, and the ground-mounted mechanical equipment along the north wall will need to be screened from Market Street with vegetative plantings or other similar means.

Credit union renovations

In other action, the committee approved a site plan for Capital Credit Union at 1121 Main Ave. to add a drive-through/ATM with a canopy to the west side of the building, a visitor entrance vestibule at the northwest corner of the building and a realignment of a parking lot island to accommodate the drive-through/ATM.

The site plan calls for using materials that will match the existing exterior and color of the building.

Capital Credit Union last year purchased the former SparkNET building at that location for $6 million to use as a branch credit union and for office functions.
