Why is your nickname POY?

“It’s a joke on the team – it stands for Player of the Year.”

Tell me about your family.

“My dad is a chiropractor, my half-brother Austin graduated from Bay Port in 2012, Taylor did the same in 2017, my two step-brothers, Matt and Jack, live in Rhode Island, and my mom was a physical education teacher.”

Do you come from a sports family?

“Taylor did volleyball, softball, basketball and track at Bay Port and my mom played basketball at Northern. I think my dad played football.”

Talk about tennis this year and any other sports you did at Bay Port.

“Tennis was lots of fun – I made varsity and played doubles. The first practice I couldn’t even get the ball over the net. I also played volleyball my freshman and sophomore year.”

How about a high school sport you wish you could have done?

“Even though it’s not a girls’ sport at the school, lacrosse would be fun.”

What would be your most memorable sports moment?

“Last basketball season because we were picked to finish seventh in the Fox River Classic Conference and we ended up winning the conference.

Do you have an embarrassing one?

“One of my years on JV, I went to save a ball that was going out of bounds and I ended up slamming into the scorer’s table. The other coach yelled, ‘Now that’s hustle.’ I was more embarrassed about that.”

The team is 16-0 and ranked No. 2 in the state. It’s been a special year so far.

“It shows you what type of team we are when every opponent we play, it would make their season to beat us. We have to play every game like it’s our last.”

What three words best describe you?

“Energetic, funny, outgoing.”

What’s on your music playlist?

“A wide variety, with some rap and soft music thrown in. I like Juice Wrld and Little Uzi.”

Do you have any pets?

“I have a dog named Moe who is a Chiweenie, which is a cross between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund.”

What would be your worst basketball nightmare?

“Having my shorts fall down during a game. (Teammate) Peyton Coughlin is always going around trying to depants people in practice – that’s why we all wear spandex under our shorts.”

Name three places you’d like to visit in your lifetime.

“Australia, Africa and the Bahamas.”

What is something people don’t know about you?

“I broke my leg when I was a young baby. My mom and I were going down a slide and my foot got caught in the railing. I had a giant pink cast on.”

How will Autumn Arbour be remembered at Bay Port?

“As a goofball. When things are serious, I try to lighten the mood by being funny.”
