Tai Crowell is a senior on the Jaguars’ wrestling team who has a passion/obsession for movies.
One day he’d like to be a screenwriter/filmmaker and quite possibly could follow in the footsteps of the legendary Martin Scorsese or Stephen King.
He lists forest green as his favorite color and enjoys watching “Daredevil” and “That ‘70s Show” when he has some free time.
What is it like to be a leader as a senior on the wrestling team at Ashwaubenon High School? “I believe that it’s an honor to be wrestling with such a good group of guys. I am extremely humbled to be a part of such a great wrestling team.”
What’s the hardest part about performing in wrestling? “It’s easily weight management. During wrestling season, I can’t eat as much as I did during the off-season.”
If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? “Be yourself, everyone else is taken. Self-confidence is key to success, and I am very content with my life.”
Do you have a nickname or something a teammate calls you during a match? “Some people call me Tai-Ger during wrestling season, but I prefer Tai.”
What is one thing that your coaches and teammates don’t know about you? “I actually lived in Illinois for the first few years of my life.”
What are your college aspirations? “My goal is to either go to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities or Northwestern University.”
What are your hobbies? “I often like to read, watch movies or exercise during my free time. I listen to a lot of music, too.”
What is your favorite event ever attended? “The Destination Imagination global finals. It was an amazing experience to be around my friends and such creative people from around the world.”
What is your favorite type of music? “My music taste is kind of random, but I mainly listen to a lot of modern rock. Kings of Leon, Interpol, The Killers, Weezer and Cage the Elephant are my favorites. I like a little bit of rap, too.”
What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? “Probably watching movie reviews on YouTube, listening to music on Spotify or communicating with friends over social media.”
What three words describe you? “Charismatic, outgoing, geeky.”
What is your favorite trip ever taken? “Spending three days in downtown Chicago with my dad and seeing a Dave Matthews Band concert.”
Running or walking? “Running.”
Biking or rollerblading? “Biking.”
Hunting or national parks? “Visiting national parks.”
Car or truck? “Car.”
What is your favorite wrestling move in a match? “I like to do the side roll quite a bit. It’s usually always there.”
Which do you prefer, a 1-0 win or a 12-0 win? “I prefer a 1-0 win. It’s definitely more engaging and entertaining, and it feels much more rewarding as well.”
