Ashwaubenon football coach Jonas resigns

By Press Times Staff

ASHWAUBENON – Ashwaubenon High School head football coach Mark Jonas resigned Nov. 9 after 10 years at the helm.

The Jaguars, who have made the WIAA state playoffs for 21 consecutive seasons, lost in the Level 1 playoffs this season to Marshfield. They ended the season with a record of 5-5.

Jonas will continue his role as English teacher at the high school.

“I appreciated, enjoyed and loved my tenure as head coach in Ashwaubenon,” said Jonas in a statement released by the school district.

Ashwaubenon activities director and associate Principal Nick Senger also had nothing but praise for Jonas.

“I would like to thank Coach Jonas for his commitment to the program and we wish him nothing but the best.”

The activities office will begin immediately to hire the next coach.
