De Pere Historical Society staying at White Pillars

By Press Times Staff

DE PERE – The De Pere Historical Society announced that it will be staying at its current site at White Pillars Museum located at 403 N. Broadway.

The announcement was made at the society’s annual meeting and fundraiser held Oct. 17.

The decision to stay at White Pillars, instead of moving to the new proposed Mulva Cultural Center, will allow the society to better preserve its current site at the oldest building in De Pere.

Part of that project is to build additional space in coordination with White Pillars itself.

New ideas are being explored and planning sessions will begin by the society’s board in January 2019.

To support the new building project the Mulva family will provide financial support, and the historical society will be looking for additional funds from the community, members and foundations.

Additional information about the project will be released when it becomes available.
