Ashwaubenon High School to present ‘Mamma Mia!’

ASHWAUBENON – Ashwaubenon High School performing arts students will present their 2018 production of the Broadway hit musical “Mamma Mia!”

This show includes the music of ABBA and the story of a young woman’s search for her birth father.

The tale unfolds on a beautiful Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

ABBA’s songs, combined with dance numbers propel this tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating the show.

A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle.

AHS senior Sarah Gregory portrays Donna, the single mom who once sang in a 1970’s group called the Dynamos with best pals Rosie (Kate Stenson) and Tanya (Natalie VanDenHeuvel), and now runs a small Greek hotel.

Her daughter Sophie (Madeline Miner) and fiancé Sky (Aidan Averbeck) help her with the daily duties, but Donna is overwhelmed with the responsibilities of a hotel owner and her daughter’s upcoming wedding.

Enter the three possible dads played by Evan Larson, Sam Calaway and Elian Mejias Muniz.

Mayhem ensues as the colorful story is told through ABBA’s hit songs and toe-tapping dance numbers.

Other cast members include AHS students Elissa Baenen, Maezy Beams, Bailee Becker, Andrey Boucher, Presley Christman, Savannah DeGroot, Emma Doran, Emma Fischer, Lauren Fischer, Calie Frewerd, Mahri Hodges, Dejia Hudecek, Kevin Johnson, Kennedy Kramer, Shelly Landowski, Taurean Lister, Nick May, Brady Mennen, Trey Micoley, Mia Miner, Greta Missbach, Aryelle Moder, Alannah Oliva, Megan Oliva, Kyra Schamber, Brynn Schintgen, Ashley Snell, Sarah Swan, Hannah Thiry, Daniel Wagner, Anya Weiss and Mason Wojtyla.
