Ashwaubenon’s season comes to an end in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – The Ashwaubenon football team saw its season come to an end with a 34-14 loss to Marshfield Oct. 19 in a WIAA Level 1 playoff game at Marshfield High School.

The No. 1 seeded Tigers blew the game wide open in the opening quarter, scoring three times on three touchdown passes by quarterback Ryan Krueger.

Marshfield led 24-0 at the half and 34-0 after the third quarter.

No. 8 Ashwaubenon had 324 yards of offense, but couldn’t find the end zone until the fourth quarter when quarterback Cadian Vang ran 17 yards for a score and then hit Parker Kreutzberg with a 13-yard touchdown pass late in the game.

Vang was 12-30 passing for 173 yards. He also rushed for a team-high 91 yards on 18 carries.

Receiver Luke Schroeder caught two balls for 58 yards.

The Jags’ defense held the Tigers to just 266 yards of offense.

Ashwaubenon, who has made the WIAA postseason for 21 consecutive seasons, ended the year with a 5-5 record.
