DE PERE- Despite trailing after the first quarter, the West De Pere Phantoms football team rolled over the Green Bay East Red Devils by a final of 56-10.

Evan Frisque rushed 20 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and Sam Mommaerts added 83 yards on the ground and had two touchdowns himself.

The Phantoms amassed 425 yards of total offense to 145 for the Red Devils.

Alex Spitzer led the way for West De Pereโ€™s defense with six solo tackles (three of them tackle for losses) and Diamante Garcia and Justin Mannisto each added four.

West De Pere drove 70 yards in 10 plays to open the game as quarterback Josh Blount galloped in from six yards out to give the Phantoms an early 7-0 lead.

However, the Red Devils scored on their opening possession as well thanks in large part to the arm of Hayden Ostertag.

Ostertag completed a pass to Mason Nohr, and the drive was capped off by Chris Morrisโ€™s 22-yard run into the endzone.

The Phantoms went nowhere on their next drive, and the Red Devils again played pitch and catch to set up a 29-yard field goal by Nohr to take a 10-7 lead on the road.

The Phantoms were not about to lose at home, ruin a perfect season, and number one seed in the playoffs.

The second quarter belonged to West De Pere in every facet of the game!

The Red Devils turned the ball over twice and ran only eight plays in the second 12-minute stanza.

Meanwhile, the Phantoms had all four of their drives end with touchdowns; two of them by running back David Vanderlogt.

When the dust had settled, West De Pere went from being down three to up 35-10 at the half.

After a three and out by Green Bay East to start half number two, the Phantoms took the ball 63 yards and went up 42-10 after Frisque bullied his way into the endzone.

The Phantoms added two late touchdowns by Mommaerts to cruise to victory.

West De Pere ends the regular season with an unblemished record of 9-0 (winning the Bay Conference) and will host the Antigo Red Robins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the opening round of the WIAA playoffs.
