BY MURRAY GLEFFE

CORRESPONDENT

Name: Claudia Dumoulin

Parents: Tina and Yves Dumoulin

Activity: Swimming

What is it like to be a leader on the swim team at Ashwaubenon High School? “One of the most important things about being a leader is to stay dedicated and set a great example. I always try to stay positive, give my best effort and encourage my teammates to do the same.”

What is your most embarrassing moment ever in swimming? “An embarrassing moment doesn’t come to mind, but false starting on a relay is something that I would not want to happen.”

How many years have you been involved in swimming? “I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old. It’s been about 10 years.”

What is your most memorable moment? “My most memorable moment on the team is when we got to swim in the new pool for the first time. We were excited for months before the pool opened, so when the time finally came, everyone was so happy, and we had a blast.”

What’s the hardest part about performing in a swim meet? “The hardest part about swim meets is the nerves beforehand. When I think about my goals for best times that I want to achieve and points I want to score for my team, I get nervous. Once my mind is in the right place, the actual race becomes so much easier.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? “I would want to be myself but in the future. I just want to see what my life will look like after I have graduated from college and what my career is going to be like.”

What is your sports routine before a big game starts? “I don’t have a specific routine. I just try to relax and stay confident before my races.”

What is one thing that other teammates or coaches don’t know about you? “I seem shy, but I am really fun once you get to know me.”

Winning individual honors or a big team win? “I think both are equally important. We have a really close team, so every win is so meaningful to us. At the same time, I strive to get best times and improve as an individual.”

What are your college aspirations? “I want to attend a four-year college near home and I hope to go on to medical school after that.”

What would your dream job be once you graduate? “My dream job would be a radiologist or some other type of doctor.”

What are your hobbies? “I love painting, reading, photography, traveling and spending time with friends and family.”

What is your favorite event ever attended? “My favorite event is when I went to see the Montreal Canadiens hockey team play against the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul with my Dad. Even though they lost, it was a once in a lifetime experience.”

What is your favorite type of music? “My favorite type of music is mostly pop and sometimes country.”

What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? “If I’m on my phone, I’m probably on Snapchat.”

What three words describe you? “Caring, creative, dedicated”

What is your favorite trip ever taken? “One summer my family took a trip to British Columbia where we rented a cabin for a week. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains and did fun activities like rafting and hiking. I hope to go back one day.”

TV or Outdoor Activities? “I love spending time outside-anything from having a picnic to going for a walk.”
