What is it like to be a leader on the tennis team at West De Pere High School? “It is so much fun. I love meeting new people and being a role model for the younger girls. I think I’m most excited for my senior season because I will get to really lead all the girls as a captain.”

What is your most embarrassing moment ever in tennis? “My doubles partner, Alyse, was playing up at the net and I took my forehand from the baseline and just nailed her right in the butt. Everyone thought it was funny, but I was so embarrassed.”

How many years have you been involved in tennis? “I started playing tennis my freshman year, so it has only been three years. I remember walking into practice the first day and I had absolutely no idea how tennis worked. I definitely wish I would have started playing when I was younger.”

What is your most memorable moment? “Winning most improved player for my team my sophomore year. Winning that gave me a lot of confidence and made me so much more motivated to come back even stronger the next season.”

What’s the hardest part about performing in a tennis competition? “Tennis is such a mental sport. I think the hardest part about competing would be that you can’t beat yourself up, otherwise, there is no way you can win.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? “Serena Williams, because she is such a beast and I think it would be super cool to see what her days are like.”

What is your sports routine before a big game starts? “I love to get pumped up with music. I always bring my speaker with me and I will get the team going at practice.”

Do you have a nickname or something a teammate calls you during a game? “All the girls and my coaches call me Dorn, which is my last name. My coach started calling me that because of some baseball movie and it stuck with everyone else on the team.”

What is one thing that other teammates or coaches don’t know about you? “I really like art. I like to draw and paint or do anything with arts and crafts.”

Winning individual honors or a big team win? “Big team win, for sure. I have always thought it’s better to be able to share accomplishments with a team.”

What are your college aspirations? “I hope to attend either UW-Platteville or UW-Milwaukee. I want to pursue either electrical or biomedical engineering.”

What would your dream job be once you graduate? “An engineer that makes artificial organs. However, I want to continue to live in the Green Bay area, and getting a job involving that would require me to live in a larger city.”

What are your hobbies? “Tennis, art, baking, scrapbooking, and fishing.”

What is your favorite event ever attended? “The Wisconsin State Fair. The environment was super fun and there were so many fun foods and things to see.”

What is your favorite type of music? “I listen to a lot of different stuff, but anything that has a good beat and that can put me in a good mood.”

What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? “I like to use social media a lot. Snapchat and Instagram are my favorites.”

What three words describe you? “Determined, sincere, intelligent”

What is your favorite trip ever taken? “I went to Mexico with my family a few years back and that was my favorite. We went swimming in caves and did a bunch of fun stuff. It was super cool to experience a different culture.”

TV or Outdoor Activities? “It depends on the day. Sometimes I am super lazy and could sit and watch Netflix all day, and other days I just need to get up and do something outdoors.”
