Stadium View set to welcome fans with completed remodel

ASHWAUBENON – A month after completing a total remodel, Stadium View Sports Bar & Banquet Hall is set to welcome fans from across the country to its new digs.

“The biggest draw for us would be our TV package. There’s not a bad seat in the house,” said Bob Watson, Stadium View president. “The minimum TVs you can see from any seat would be six. As well as opening up the front of the building and just having Stadium View have the ultimate view of Lambeau Field.”

The remodel project started on May 21 and was completed Aug. 7.

The family-owned bar in its 26th year of business now has 28 65-inch screens making sure everyone can see the action.

Garage doors facing west also open up allowing more people one of the best views in the Green Bay area.

“I think it’s actually better than being in the stands,” Watson said. “You got comfy seats, it’s climate controlled and the prices are a lot cheaper than Lambeau Field.”

From the outside, Stadium View got a remodel as well. Brick, glass, steel and lighting combine to shower fans in green and gold after touchdowns, but the colors can change. So if the Badgers find pay dirt this season, which Watson hopes happens often, fans can expect red and white.

“We’re a sports bar and that’s our biggest thing, being able to cater to those sports,” Watson said. “If it’s a Brewers game, and we’re hoping they’re going to get into the playoffs, the colors can turn into those of the Brewers. It’s just a better fan experience.”

The fan experience at Stadium View will also be a new one, as the building was nearly completed gutted.

“It basically is new,” Watson said. “We had everything down to a bare concrete floor and stud walls and we actually had to tear a lot of the concrete up to put in new plumbing and new electrical everything.”

Complete with the remodel are new bathrooms, which Watson said were probably the nicest in the Stadium District.

The remodel also allowed for the optimization of space, meaning more people can be served more quickly, even though square footage remains the same.

“It’s a more efficient layout how it is, and with that we can serve people a lot more efficiently,” Watson said. “It’s worked out after 26 years of seeing inefficiencies and the areas where people get into a jam, if you will, and being able to open those areas up, so on bigger event days and game days everything is going to have a lot better flow to it.”

In addition to the new design, the menu got a slight revamp as well, with close to 40 percent new offerings, but the classics remain.

“We’ve added a lot more options that are more conducive to custom orders, and if you want a burger built a certain way we can do that a lot easier now,” Watson said. “Or if you want your nachos done a certain way, there are a lot more options available, and the chili is still there, it will always be there, that’s definitely one of our staples.”

This will be the last remodel until the spring of 2020, when Watson plans to have the outdoor area completely redone.

“The feedback has been 100 percent positive and it’s awesome seeing people walk through the doors who have not seen it since it’s been done,” Watson said. “The expressions on their faces are awesome, everything has been very well received.”
