Bay Port boys, De Pere girls win cross country invite

DE PERE – The Bay Port boys and the De Pere girls each won their respective races at the De Pere cross country invite Aug. 30.

Bay Port’s Ryan Thieme won the event overall with his blazing time of 17:04, which was a full 47 seconds faster than Jermaine Evans from West De Pere.

The Pirates finished 10 points ahead of De Pere in the team competition.

The Redbirds were led by Andrew Lopez’s fourth-place finish.

On the girls’ side of things, De Pere’s Aisa Longnecker ran to a second-place time of 20:41 for the winning Redbirds, who finished 39 points ahead of runner-up Green Bay Southwest.

Bay Port finished third as a team, one point behind Southwest.

The Pirates were led by Rachel Hoffman’s sixth-place finish.

There were 53 competitors in each race.
