SEYMOUR-A week’s worth of practice didn’t stop Rylie Severson from going out and shooting the second-best round of the day at Crystal Springs golf course. (Aug. 10)

Severson, who made the sectional tournament as a sophomore, had three birdies and two pars in her opening nine (39) before cooling off on the back side.

Despite the 46 on her second nine, Severson topped 74 golfers on the tree-lined golf course that played host to 15 total teams on the day.

The Jaguars finished seventh with a total of 418 strokes for 18 holes of stroke play competition.

“I was very pleased with the performance today,” said Kevin Penza, Jaguars golf coach. “All the girls had a lot of positive things happen on the course. Couldn’t be happier for the first meet of the season.”

Jaguars Results:

Severson 85

Zion Estano 102

Sadie Schmitt 110

Mariah Hermsen 121

Maddy Hamielec 122

Note: Ashwaubenon has several newcomers on the 2018 roster (Olivia Collins, Lauryn House, Ariana Jensen, Maddie Kaminski, Brynn Schintgen, Abbey Suski, and Tiahna Tilot).
