ASHWAUBENON – A time-tested, winning combination for gamers is now available at Edge VR Arcade.
The area’s only virtual reality arcade is now offering Luige’s frozen pizza, along with fully immersive gaming.
“Pizza and video games are a beautiful marriage, so it makes sense,” said Tony Reale, co-owner.
The arcade, which opened on March 24 at 2642 Packerland Drive, had a neighbor tennent with a kitchen in the unit that was walled off.
Now that Edge VR Arcade has expanded, the decision to offer pizza along with pixels was a no-brainer.
“It actually made just made sense for us to do that and it completed our vision for people to have a good time and come eat some food,” Reale said.
The pizza oven at the arcade can cook a pie in 5-7 minutes, Reale said.
Edge VR Arcade has also expanded to better fit the vision of the owners.
It now offers 11 total virtual reality stations, eight of which are both VR that allows the user to move about in a room-scale environment, two active VR stations on omnidirectional treadmills where users walk in the virtual environment, but not in real life, and one racing simulator.
By October, Edge VR hopes to have 15 total, with the addition of four more booth VR stations.
The pizza cafe also has fountain sodas, Monster energy drinks and bottled ice coffee.
Reale said in the future the arcade will offer beer and wine if it receives an alcohol license that is being applied for.
Edge VR Arcade is open from 3-10 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. It is also available for private parties.
