ASHWAUBENON-Sage Wagner is back as an upper-classmen and will anchor the Jaguars Girls Track and Field running core.

Wagner qualified for both the 1600 (12th) and 3200 (21st) Meter Runs at the WIAA State Tournament last season.

“I expect big things from Sage this year,” said Cal Kromm, Jaguars Track and Field Coach. “She fought through some injuries last year and if she can stay healthy she will be one of the top distance runners in the area once again.”

Other members looking to break through include Morgan Gauthier, Kiley Harju, Mara Schroeder, and Rylie Severson.

The Jaguars have tasted success in the field events for as long as one can remember.

Replacing Erin Dunning will be difficult, but Karlie Komp (discus), Julia Perock (shot put), and Hayden Kupsh (long jump) are back and will aim to better their marks to keep the beat moving forward.

“The girls team is young and we need some girls to really step up for us this year,” added Kromm. “ We have some kids that play multiple sports and once they make the adjustment to their event, I think will challenge for good times.”
