HOBART – A Hobart woman has died as a result of a crash on Monday, Dec. 11, according to the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, in the 2100 block of County Trunk GE/South Pine Tree Road, in the village of Hobart.

Upon the initial investigation of the crash, it appears a four door Saturn driven by a 57-year-old Green Bay man struck a female who was on foot crossing the road.

Betty Niespodzany, 78, Hobart woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department was assisted by the Hobart Fire Department, County Rescue, Oneida Police Department, and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash remains under investigation, but the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department does not expect any charges as a result of the accident.
