Jaguar hockey goes undefeated over the weekend

By Murray Gleffe, Correspondent

ASHWAUBENON- The Jaguar hockey team defeated the De Pere Voyageurs by a final of 5-2 (Dec. 1) at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Jaguars trailed the Voyageurs 1-0 after one period.

However, the Jaguars then gained complete control the final 34:00 of the game, by racking off five straight goals to go onto victory.

The Jaguars had 16 more shots than the Voyageurs in the final two periods.

Graham Manders, Vojta Kucera, Parker Dorn, Matej Palfy, and Joe Deboth each tallied a goal for the home team.

Tyler Roethlisberger added four assists in the win.

BROOKFIELD- The Jaguars rallied back from a one goal deficit and went on to defeat the Brookfield Stars by a final of 5-4 (Dec. 2) at The Ponds of Brookfield.

After a scoreless first period, Joey Hamielec and Liam Golden put the Jaguars up 2-0 just eight minutes into the second period.

Inexplicably, though, the Stars rattled off three straight goals. The last came with just ten minutes remaining in the game to put them in front 3-2.

However, the Jaguars steadied themselves on the road.

Golden scored the game tying goal and Roethlisberger the go-ahead goal with just three minutes left in the game.

Each team scored once more (Palfy for the Jaguars and Parker Esswein for the Stars) to provide the final one goal margin for Ashwaubenon.

The Jaguars improve to 4-1 on the season and will be back in action Dec. 9 when they take on the Bay Port Pirates in a key FRCC showdown!
