SUAMICO – Simon Wagner, son of Al and Tina Wagner and member of Troop 1093 Suamico, will receive his Eagle Scout Rank at a court of honor ceremony Saturday, Jan. 6 at Suamico United Methodist Church.

To meet Eagle Scout requirements, scouts must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership skills and successfully complete a community service project before their eighteenth birthday.

Wagner is receiving his Eagle Scout Rank with an impressive 31 merit badges.

Wagner has held various leadership positions while in Boy Scouts including Order of the Arrow representative, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader and quartermaster.
He also received the following special awards: Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow and Chapter Chief for Muk Chapter (for three years).

For his Eagle Scout community service project, Wagner chose to construct Lego tables for the Brown County Public Library.

The tables included troughs on both sides for Lego storage and multi-colored Lego base plates where kids can build their creations. The table was built to specifications for a chair on each side.

“Boy Scouts gave me opportunity to develop my speaking skills, organizational skills and leadership skills in an environment where time is available for guidance and aid,” Wagner said. “It provides kids with leadership opportunities from a young age.”
