WISCONSIN RAPIDS- Sage Wagner finished 122nd overall (20:48.36) Saturday in the WIAA Division 1 State Girls Cross Country meet held at The Ridges Golf Course.

Wagner went out with a 6:06 in Mile 1, ran a 6:51 middle leg, and then closed with a 7:53 final mile.

The course proved to be a difficult one for most runners with the cold, damp conditions present!

Senior Peyton Sippy from Janesville Craig won the overall race with a time of 18:01.56.

Wagner will have one more year at Ashwaubenon to compete on the big stage, and attain her individual goals.

The Jaguar girl’s cross country team finished 7th overall in the FRCC in 2017.

Sage Wagner garnered 1st team all-conference honors and Erica Conrad 2nd team for their showing at Meadowbrook Park.

For Wagner, it was a continuation of her running skill the last three years for the Jaguars.

On the flip side, Conrad was a bit of a surprise on the team since this was her first year running competitively for the squad.

Her 20:01 at the conference meet really set the tone for the type of runner Conrad can become in her final two years of cross country.

Other varsity members included Ashley Manders, Sophia Duboird, Emma Priebe, Emilie Van Sluys, and Kiley Harjus

The Jaguar boys team finished 8th overall in the FRCC in 2017.

Junior Randy Johnson was the leader of the group. He ran a 16:55 at Conference and it gave him 2nd team honors.

Other varsity members included Nick Johnson, Tai Crowell, Sam Lokken, Christian Van Iten, Ian MacLean, and Emmanuel Gutierrez.
