ASHWAUBENON – A father-son piano team will take the stage later this month at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center.

Ryan & Ryan, Kickin’ The Clouds Away is at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28 in the new PAC.

“I had the chance to see them at a showcase at a national conference once and they are phenomenal, engaging, talented, and they have a wonderful sense of humor,” said Kate Green, Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center director.

The duo will cover many genres at the show with songs people are sure to recognize.

“Their repertoire spans classical, jazz, ragtime and funk, and really gives a fresh interpretation of old music,” Green said. “There’s going to be classics that you know, but they also jazz things up and make things more relevant to today’s style.”

Each Ryan will have a 9-foot Steinway grand piano.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, the PAC was able to purchase one piano prior that stays in house. The other piano is on loan from Heid Music, the show’s sponsor.

As part the event the Ryans will hold a free workshop for those serious about piano on Friday, Oct. 27. Those interested are asked to register at Heid.

Kickin’ The Clouds Away will be one of the first shows of this kind at the new facility.

“The Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center announced their inaugural series at the end of August so this is only the third show in the series,” Green said.

The PAC is owned by the village of Ashwaubenon but operated by the school district. The building seats 740 people.
Green said the goal of the PAC is to provide a space to host national and international touring acts as well as local talent.

“It is a beautiful stage, it has a full fly system for theatrical purposes and it’s well located in the heart of Ashwaubenon,” Green said. “It was a very well thought out venue on the inside as well as on the the outside.”

Tickets for the show are $42, or $38.50 for residents of Ashwaubenon who use the code “resident” when ordering online.

Tickets are available online at ashwaubenonpac.org. The PAC also partnered with Ticket Star, located at 1901 South Oneida St. Tickets are available there and on ticketstaronline.com.
