Bay Port Sports Shorts: Girls Tennis Wins Four in a Row, Baranczyk is Player of the Year

GIRLS TENNIS: the girls’ tennis team won FRCC matches vs. De Pere, Green Bay Preble and Manitowoc Lincoln on September 18, 19 and 21 respectively.
The Lady Pirates won their fourth FRCC dual in a row with a 4-3 win over Ashwaubenon on September 26. To view story, results, pics and a video, CLICK HERE.
With the four wins, Bay Port finished at 6-3 in the FRCC.

GIRLS SWIMMING: the Lady Pirates swim team easily beat Green Bay United on September 26 in a FRCC dual. Bay Port won 10 of the 11 events overall and swept the top-three placings in four of the events.

GIRLS GOLF: the Lady Pirates golf team finished third in the final FRCC meet of the year on September 22 at Wander Springs, thus finishing in a tie for second overall for the year in the conference with Preble. Green Bay Notre Dame won the title.
Freshman Jo Baranczyk shot a 7-over par 79 to take medalist honors. She also finished FRCC play with a 39.50 stroke average/9 holes to win player of the year by 25 shots.
Senior Tori Grimm was honorable mention with her 49.83 average.
Bay Port competed in regionals on Sept. 27 at Brown Country and finished second as a team behind Notre Dame, thus advancing to sectionals on October 3 at Thornberry Creek.
Baranczyk took medalist honors with her 2-over par 75, 11 shots better than Pulaski’s Madi Winter. Tori Grimm was 11th (101), Lauren Lemorande tied for 12th (102), Madelyn Peters tied for 18th (108) and Courtney Koeberl tied for 22nd (112).
FOOTBALL: the Pirates football team won a 35-21 game over Notre Dame on September 22. CLICK HERE for the full game story, pics and video.

VOLLEYBALL: the Lady Pirates volleyball team got a 3-0 FRCC road sweep over Manitowoc Lincoln on September 21. Bay Port won 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.
Olivia Schaut and Alyssa Koska had 14 and 11 kills respectively to lead the Pirates, while Mady Schroeder had 12 digs. Maura McGinnity had 32 assists.

BOYS SOCCER: the boys’ soccer team lost 5-0 and 3-2 non-conference games to Eau Claire Memorial and Chippewa Falls on September 22 and 23 respectively.
Bay Port got back in the win column with a 5-1 FRCC road win on September 26 over Sheboygan South.
Brett Fuglestad had three goals and an assist, while Griffin Pecore and Calvin Schilz also had goals. Zach Meyer added an assist.
With the win, the Pirates improved to 3-9-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the FRCC.
CROSS COUNTRY: the cross country teams traveled to Minneapolis on September 23 for the Roy Griak Invitational.
The boys placed 38th as a team out of 46 in the Gold Division, while the girls were 44th. Over 400 racers were in each race. Finishers for Bay Port were as follows:
