Bay Port Sports Shorts: Girls Swim and Dive Teams Win Ashwaubenon Invite

GIRLS SWIMMING: the Lady Pirates swim and dive teams won the 37th Annual Ashwaubenon Invite with their 481 points on September 15-16.
Brightyn Zuelke finished third in the diving event to help give Bay Port a lead heading into Saturday’s swim competition.
Overall winners in the swim portion for the Pirates were the 200 Medley Relay team (Shae Gustafson, Erin Samels, Emma Lasecki and Lacy Geurts), Lasecki in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly, Samels in the 100 Breaststroke and the 400 Freestyle Relay team (Riley Melendy, Sophia Thibert, Gustafson and Lasecki).

VOLLEYBALL: Bay Port is next in action on September 21 when they travel to Manitowoc Lincoln for a FRCC match.
BOYS SOCCER: the Pirates soccer team lost a 7-2 FRCC match to Pulaski on September 19. The Red Raiders scored three goals in the first half and four in the second to win going away. Bay Port dropped to 2-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the FRCC.
Jimmy Erickson and Griffin Pecore had the goals for the Pirates, while Pecore and Calvin Schilz each had assists.
The Pirates will host Eau Claire Memorial and Chippewa Falls on September 22 and 23 respectively.
GIRLS GOLF: the Lady Pirates golf team finished second at the Notre Dame Invite on September 18 at Thornberry Creek. Jo Baranczyk shot an even par 72 to win overall, while Maddy Peters was 19th with her 96.
The team is next in action on September 20 at Royal Scot and September 22 for an 18-hole FRCC meet at Wander Springs.
CROSS COUNTRY: both the boys and girls cross country teams will travel to Mishicot for an Invite on September 21, before heading to Minneapolis next weekend.
