Name:        Tyler Roethlisberger

Sport:         Boys Soccer

Twitter:     @Tylerroeth06

What is it like to be a leader on the soccer team at Ashwaubenon?  “I don’t know if I view myself as a leader, but I try to lead by example in practices and in games.”

What is your most embarrassing moment ever in soccer? “Freshman year there was a photo taken at the exact moment that I was getting nutmegged. The seniors of my freshman year didn’t let me live that down.”

How many years have you been involved in soccer? “I have been playing soccer for 12 years. I started when I was 5 in Ashwaubenon park and rec and played with them up to u8-u9. I played Ashwaubenon Storm for 3 years and then moved to De Pere Select.”

What is your most memorable moment in soccer? “Last year when our team made it to the Sectional Semi-finals. It was the best an Ashwaubenon soccer team has done in a while.”

What’s the hardest aspect about soccer? “The Stamina part. It’s very difficult playing all 90 minutes and then at the same time trying to read the defenders and what formation they are playing.”

If you could be somebody for one day, who would it be?  “Jason Bourne”

What are your college aspirations? “I am looking at NC State or Colorado-Colorado Springs for a double major in Golf Management and Business.”

What would be your dream job once you graduate? “Working as a Business Rep for a golf manufacturer.”

What are your hobbies?  “Playing Golf, Hockey, and watching Netflix”

What is your favorite sporting event ever attended? “The Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National and the Paralympics in Vancouver 2010. The Ryder Cup was an incredible experience seeing the way the pro’s made their way around the course. The Paralympics was an experience like no other. I witnessed world class athletes that were not limited by their disability and I got to see my Dad officiate Sled Hockey.”

What is your favorite kind of music? “I listen to all genres, but if I had to choose one it would be country.”

What is your favorite thing to do on your phone? “Either Snapchat or check Instagram”

What three words best describe you?  “Active, Obsessive, and Preppy”

What is your favorite trip(s) ever taken? “Cromer/London England. It was my favorite trip because I got to experience the two sides of London; the old and the new. Also, I got to experience the small-town life in Cromer which is a small town in Norwich on the North Sea.”

Comments from Jaguar Head Soccer Coach Rick Kremer: “Tyler has been a hard-working player since his freshman year. He struggled early on because of his size but found a way to be a successful scorer. He listens well and responds to corrective criticism very well. The best attribute Tyler brings to this season is his willingness to keep setting his goals high and pushing himself daily to reach them. He has always had players he wanted to be as good or better than, local or outside the area which has helped him reach his goals.”
