The Jaguar boys soccer team is coming off a historic season in which it went 16-5-3 overall, 6-2-1 in the FRCC, and made it to the Sectional Semis of the WIAA Division 2 Tournament. Many members of that squad graduated. Head Coach Rick Kremer, “It’s going to be a challenge for the older players to remain patient and to help guide the younger players through some tough moments when they occur. Roethlisberger will be a marked man in every game his senior season, but I still expect him to have a big season.”
Leading returning scorer Tyler Roethlisberger (50 points), Matt Luebke (10 points), Kole Kolinski (9 points), and Goaltender Anthony Perdue (630 min) do return and will have to provide leadership and stability to the underclassmen. It will be up to a number of new players to keep the Jaguar soccer program in the upper echelon in 2017.
Interest in soccer in Wisconsin and the country is up due to the World Cup approaching next summer, and that can only help each and every program. Head Coach Rick Kremer, “As the big national event approaches, interest at the High School level in the US seems to take off. It is great for the sport. The academy and youth programs have to remain strong for soccer to continue to flourish in Wisconsin, though, every year. My goal is to engage the kids in the sport, and to get them playing better from the beginning of the 12-week journey to the end of the season.”
