UPDATE: De Pere man charged with OWI homicide in deaths of mother and daughter

UPDATE:

The driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a mother and daughter Thursday evening in the town of Lawrence has been charged with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
David E. Meyer, 46, from De Pere, appeared in Brown County Circuit Court Friday.  According to the criminal complaint, Meyer was driving home from a golf outing in Wrightstown when the car he was driving struck and killed Raelia R. Pennenberg, 18 and her mother Rebecca L. Pennenberg 44 both of Lawrence.  Meyer had a blood alcohol level of 0.219 percent.  The legal limit is .08 percent.
Prosecuters asked for a $50,000 cash bond. Meyer is scheduled to appear in court for an adjourned initial appearance at 2:30 p.m. August 25. If convicted, Meyer faces up to 40 years in prison for each count.

Lawrence, Wisconsin

On August 17, 2017 at approximately 7:30pm, the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a vehicle crash involving two pedestrians on French Road, just south of CTH S in the Town of Lawrence.

Upon the investigation of the crash, it appears a two door Mitsubishi driven by a 46-year-old De Pere man struck two females who were walking on French Road. The vehicle had severe damage. The females were 44 and 18 years old from Lawrence were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Medical Examiner.
It appears alcohol and speed may be contributing factors to the crash.

French road from CTH S to Golden Glow Road, will be closed for reconstruction of the accident.
The Hobart/ Lawrence Police Department is being assisted by the Lawrence Fire Department, De Pere Fire and Rescue, State Patrol, Wrightstown Police, and Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

Names are being withheld at this time pending the notification of family members. The crash is under investigation and no other information will be released tonight.
